Kimberly’s message:

Hello there! I’m Kimberly Ong or キンバリー先生, as they call me here. I’m an intern assistant language teacher from Malaysia, and I’m pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Education. I have taken a gap year from my tertiary education to work with Kita-Kamakura Joshi Gakuen. The purpose of my presence in this school is to assist the English language teachers in their lessons by providing an additional hand in areas such as lesson planning and guiding students in developing English communication skills. In addition, I will also be a part of the English club’s after school activities as a coach on a weekly basis.

So far, my experience with the school has been great! The teachers have been great to work with and the students are bright and talented individuals with plenty of potential to succeed in life. I definitely look forward to an exciting year ahead with the school.

Xara’s message:

Hello there, my name is Xara Yong and I am from Malaysia. I am pursuing my 2nd year of Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education in Taylor’s University. However, as I am currently an intern in Kita-kamakura Joshi Gakuen, I have taken a year off from university to gain more insight and valuable teaching experiences in Japan. My role in the school is to support the teachers with any help that I can offer and to enhance students’ English language learning through interacting in English. Today marks my 15th day working in Kita-kamakura Joshi Gakuen as an assistant teacher and I can’t thank the school enough for the opportunity given to me to work with such an inspiring group of people. I am truly grateful to be able to work in a positive and pleasant atmosphere where all teachers and students are extremely friendly, helpful, and supportive. I believe that this is going to be a fun year filled with lots of learning and thrilling adventures for all of us! See you around!
